Our hives were atacked by a fishercat. The ghives sat scattered all night in the rain. Not good
With the FLOW Hive assemebled and the bees in the hive, the next step was to introduce the queen. We kept the queen in her cage because she was a new queen and if we just put her into the hive the bees would not think of her as thier own and kill her. She stayed in her cage in the house overnight. In the morning, Kirk fed her gave her a bit of water and a few hours later when it was warm enough outside we opened the hive and put the queen and her cage inside the hive where the colony could get used to he...
Kirk, Jessica and Alison went to our local Bee Keeper and picked up the bees we ordered in January. He was so very knowledgble but very soft spoken. When he split the hive the queen got lost or flew away so make sure to wath for part two when we introduce the queen tot he hive.
In this 2nd part we finish the assembly as well as apply the finishes. The Flow Hive is ready to go. All we need now is the bees.
