The House is taking shape as we start the first floor walls. Such an exciting time.

Winter was giving us problems with the lack of sun. We had to temporarily hook up our generator to get the batteries topped up.
Here is our video for the Homestead collaboration with a few other channels. Guildbrook Farms called us out and we thank them for including our small little channel in this.
We get working on some custom wall finishes in the bunkie. We want the walls to look great but not cost a fortune so we made some shiplap from plywood and used old skids for one of the walls.
Winter is here for sure. Grey days back to back. 5 to 10 cm of snow everyday. The solar system does not stand a chance most days. Here is the final component of our off grid solar system that is sure to help win the battle of winter power production.
We are ready to get the bunkie warm in the winter and cool in the summer. We are adding 1 1/2 inches of bat insulation to the inside of the walls.
So much snow and so cold out, I am working hard inside the warm bunkie getting it ready for a winter getaway weekend. We will be living in this full time for about 6 months while we finish the house this year so I am under a bit of a time crunch.
It was to cold to spend allot of time outside, but that does not stop the to-do list from getting longer. I took advantage of a break in the cold weather to get the chimney and wood stove installed so I have a warm place to work over the winter while completing the shipping can bunkie
